Basement Entrances

Basement entrances can add to the value of your home by providing access to and from your basement from outside your house. Basement entrances are useful for when you are converting your basement into additional living space, adding an apartment, or just want easy access for storage. It also provides a safe way to exit in the event of a fire.

Basement entrances can have stairs that are either parallel or perpendicular to your house. Typically, the stairs lead down to a landing that has a grated dry well system with a catch basin and sump pump to reduce the chances of flooding. The stairs can be 40" or wider and the landings can be as big as you want. A grated channel drain can also be added in front of the basement door to further reduce the chance of flooring.

You can choose any style of door including an energy efficient solid hinged door or door with glass to allow additional light into your basement or even a sliding glass door leading out to a large landing with stepped up planting beds.
