Exterior membranes

If your foundation is cracked or becomes soft and porous, it may be necessary to excavate around the exterior of your house so a waterproof membrane can be adhered to the outside of your foundation to prevent water from seeping through your basement walls. If your walls have become excessively damaged by water and are too unstable to directly adhere a waterproof membrane, a hydraulic skim coating may be necessary. This coating holds onto your foundation and provides a stable base for the adhesion of the waterproof membrane.

This process is usually highly effective, particularly when combined with proper grading sloping away from the house.
